Our Mission
Independently formed over 25 years ago as a zero overhead 501(c)3 tuition assistance trust, Friends of Catholic Education is committed to ensuring that Catholic education is available to all children, regardless of race, religion, or affluence. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, approximately 14,000 students have benefited, and overall enrollment at the fine parish schools of St. Catherine, Sts. Peter and Paul, Holy Family Classical School, and Instituto Bilingue Guadalupano at St. Francis Xavier has been sustained.
Our original mission has remained unchanged – to send financially needy children to these schools with simple selection criteria of economic need and desire for a quality Catholic education. Period. Every dollar that we raise goes directly to the schools to provide scholarships for children grades P – 8.
When choosing the recipients, each school’s pastor and principal consider the level of need for each individual family. This straightforward approach allows the schools to stretch the dollars further and results in even more children being reached. Without any expectations of hoopla, public accolades or thank you gifts, Friends of Catholic Education supporters continue to give year after year. Our donors know that their gifts are matched dollar for dollar and that these gifts reach their intended target. The help is direct and the results are dramatic.
